Master Ground Beef Mix (Freezer)
Ingredients
throw in mixed peppers
3 pounds lean ground beef
2 large onions, chopped
1-2 I used 2 was a bit soupy (15-ounce) cans tomato sauce
2 tablespoons chili powder
2 teaspoons black pepper
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons onion powder
2 teaspoons salt (or to taste)
I froze mine raw
Directions
Brown the ground beef with the chopped onions until the meat is fully cooked.
Drain off excess fat.
Stir in the tomato sauce, chili sauce, chili powder, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt.
Simmer for about 20–30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the flavors blend.
Cool completely.
Package into 2-cup or 2½-cup freezer portions, label, and freeze for up to 3–4 months.
Use the Master Mix For:
Chili
Sloppy Joes
Taco meat
Spaghetti sauce
Goulash
Casseroles
Stuffed peppers
Nachos
Shepherd's pie
