The Ride to Happiness is still my number one coaster in the world, so obviously we had to ride it five times back to back.

We’re back at Plopsaland Belgium for our second visit, spending a full day exploring the park from opening until late. There’s loads here beyond the headline coaster too, including Heidi The Ride, Anubis The Ride, DinoSplash, Big Splash, Mega Mindy Jetski and some surprisingly wicked little flat rides.

But obviously, The Ride to Happiness is the main event. Front row, back row, left side, right side, five rides back to back and somehow every ride feels completely different. The spinning, launches, onboard audio and ridiculous layout still make this one very easy for me to put at number one.

We also find one of the funniest ride ops we’ve ever encountered, discover a supermarket just five minutes outside the park that can save you a fortune on food, explore Maya Land and find out whether the rest of Plopsaland can actually compete with one of Europe’s best roller coasters.

And if you’re thinking about your first European theme park road trip from the UK, Plopsaland is ridiculously easy to reach from Calais. This might genuinely be one of the easiest places to start.
