As a mom living in Canada, I am always looking for ways to save money on groceries while making life easier for my family. With the rising cost of food, buying in bulk when items are on sale can be a great way to stretch your grocery budget—especially when you have a large family.
In today's video, I am sharing my grocery haul and showing you how I prepare and store fruits, vegetables, spinach, and habanero peppers after buying them in bulk.
I bought a box of mandarins for $10, apples for $10, grapes for $10, $30 worth of red habanero peppers, and a box of spinach containing 12 packets.
I also show you how I prepare my grapes using white vinegar, rinse and remove them from the stems, and store them in Ziploc bags. I also wash and prepare my apples and mandarins for my children's school lunches.
For the habanero peppers, I use baking soda to wash them before packing them for long-term storage.
This video is especially for African families and moms living in the diaspora who are trying to save money, reduce unnecessary grocery shopping trips, prepare for back-to-school, meal prep, and manage the rising cost of living in Canada.
The goal is not to buy everything in bulk, but to buy smart, buy what your family actually uses, take advantage of sales, store food properly, reduce waste, and save money over time.
If you're an African mom living abroad, a busy mom, a large-family household, or simply trying to reduce your grocery expenses, I hope this video gives you some useful ideas.
