How to set up for sustainable fat loss

Starting a diet on the lowest calories you can tolerate is just burning through your options before you’ve even needed them. It’s like maxing out your credit card on day one of your holiday.

A good pre-diet phase isn’t wasted time. It’s what gives you room to keep making progress later, when the inevitable fat loss stalls happen.

The funny part is that adding 200-400 calories for a few weeks sounds terrifying to some people, but spending the next four months stuck on 1,200 calories somehow feels like the safer option.

Sustainable fat loss means being able to keep progressing until you actually reach your goal, not just losing weight as fast as possible for the first two weeks. And to do that, you need enough runway to keep making adjustments as your body adapts.
