In this video I assemble the CD4060 Dream Light Music Box DIY Soldering Kit. There seems to be a variety of these kits available on AliExpress. While I ordered the orginal kit, without the music add-on, I was sent the new/upgraded kit which includes a musical blob-chip.

The kit uses a CD4060 to control the LEDs and create interesting patterns.

Follow along as I puzzle through the assembly to discover the secret tune embedded on the music IC.

Due to the lack of instructions, I almost forget to install the link at J1. If you are following along I would recommend that this is installed early in the build process after the diodes and resistors.

To avoid damaging the CD4060 I installed a 16 pin socket on the PCB from a kit of sockets I had to hand.
