In this video, I compare two popular budget DIY welders: the Parkside PIFDS 120 B2 flux-core inverter welder and the Parkside PISG 120 stick (MMA) inverter welder.
If you're a beginner or DIY enthusiast wondering which welder to choose, I break down the key differences, real-world usability, and what you can realistically expect from each machine.
The PIFDS 120 B2 is a gasless flux-core welder with automatic wire feed and up to 120A output, designed for easier handling and beginner-friendly operation. The stick welder, on the other hand, offers a more traditional approach that works well on thicker materials but requires more skill to master.
I also share my personal experience using both, including what I liked, what I didn’t, and which one I would actually recommend for most DIY users.
⚠️ Important note:
While the Parkside flux-core welder is a great entry point, I would strongly recommend also looking at other brands. These machines can become limiting quite quickly, and if you can spend a bit more on a welder with more control, you’ll likely have a much better long-term experience.
