Lei Xu & Jiarong Xie on "Cold versus hot snare polypectomy for pedunculated colorectal polyps: a multicenter randomized controlled trial"
A multicenter randomized controlled trial investigated outcomes for removal of 189 pedunculated colorectal polyps by cold snare (CSP) or hot snare (HSP) polypectomy. CSP showed 0% delayed postpolypectomy bleeding (0% vs. 6.3%) but more immediate bleeding (86% vs. 13%) compared with HSP. Resection time was shorter for CSP. This interesting study, potentially expands the indication of CSP to pedunculated polyps.
