Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Portfolio Committee Chairperson, Dr Zweli Mkhize, has welcomed the decision by National Treasury to withold the 2026 equitable share funding for 69 municipalities.
Mkhize has however called on the affected municipalities to swiftly meet the conditions set by National Treasury before the funds are released. He was part of the virtual media briefing of the governance cluster oversight committees of Parliament.
