The Sierra Leone Teachers Union (SLTU) has written to Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, urging his immediate intervention over delays in the payment of government school fee subsidies.

In a reminder addressed to the Vice President, the union recalled that one of the key resolutions reached during the nationwide teachers’ strike in September 2025 was the settlement of backlog fee subsidies for the 2024/2025 academic year, as well as payment for the first term of the 2025/2026 school year.

However, the union expressed disappointment that subsidies for the second and third terms for Junior Secondary and Primary Schools for the current school year have still not been paid, despite assurances reportedly given by the Government through the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education.
