Uganda’s Economy Grows by 8.5% in Second Quarter, Ggoobi Cites Strong Demand, Investment & Exports for Economic Surge

Uganda’s economy has expanded by 8.5 percent in the second quarter of the current financial year, up from 5.4 percent recorded during the same period last year. This brings the average economic growth for the first half of the fiscal year to 6.7 percent, compared to 5.8 percent in the corresponding period previously. Addressing the media, the Permanent Secretary and Secretary to the Treasury, Dr. Ramathan Ggoobi, attributed the strong performance to robust aggregate demand, increased consumption of goods and services, growing foreign investor confidence, and a rise in investment and exports driven by industrial production. #UgandaCatholicTelevision #uctvuganda #uctv #uctvupdates #uctvnewsupdates
