Tokyo Joe, from 1949, tells the story of Humphrey Bogart as the character Joe Barrett, an ex pilot who has returned to Japan following the war and returned to his old nightclub, "Tokyo Joe's" which he had owned and operated with his partner Ito (Teru Shimada) and from him discovers that his wife Trina (played by Florence Marly) whom he believed to be dead, is alive and living nearby. But when he rushes off to find her he discovers that she has re-married a businessman named Mark Landis (Alexander Knox).
Joe is determined to win her back, so he takes on work operating a small freight airline , but soon he finds himself in a rocky situation as he's been blackmailed by the Japanese underground led by Baron Kimara, played by Sessue Hayakawa into flying war criminals back to Japan, all the while with American authorities closely following his activities. Can he clear himself from this shady business and reunite with his former love? Well, you'll need to watch Tokyo Joe for yourself to see what happens.

Critics, please: If I'm wrong, educate me. Don't belittle me.
I'm just a student here of old cinema and I want to learn. Help me do better.
