Backrooms Had Me Trapped

Backrooms movie review with a horror concept that feels scarier than the actual movie. The creepy endless hallways, fluorescent lights, and liminal-space atmosphere work — but the story doesn’t always give you enough tension, character, or reason to care.

Some people are going to love the weird slow-burn nightmare vibe. Others are going to walk out saying, “What the hell did I just watch?” Me? I’m somewhere in the middle.

I did enjoy the chaotic final 20 minutes, when the movie finally wakes up and gives the horror energy I wanted earlier. But for most of the runtime, *Backrooms* felt like a scary idea searching for a stronger movie.
