Apocalypto review for the 2006 historical action film, directed by Mel Gibson of Braveheart, The Passion of the Christ, and Hacksaw Ridge. It stars Rudy Youngblood as Jaguar Paw, Dalia Hernández as Seven, Raoul Trujillo as Zero Wolf, Gerardo Taracena as Middle Eye, and Jonathan Brewer as Blunted. A young Mayan hunter must protect his pregnant wife and child after his village is brutally raided and he is captured for ritual sacrifice in the declining days of the Mayan civilization. It is streaming on Amazon Prime Video, Peacock, and others now. Here is my spoiler free review and so called out of the theater or home theatre reaction, not quite a full breakdown or ending explained type, just a short and quick review of a movie or film that could be currently in the theater or on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney Plus, Hulu, Peacock, HBO Max, Paramount +, YouTube TV, Tubi, you name it. Apocalypto (2006) is a Mel Gibson-directed historical action epic starring Rudy Youngblood as Jaguar Paw, a young hunter whose peaceful life is shattered by invaders. Spoken entirely in Yucatec Maya with subtitles, the film follows his desperate fight for survival and escape through the jungle in a raw, unflinching journey of fear, oppression, and resilience.
