A Ghanaian victim of xenophobic violence in South Africa, Emmanuel Asamoah, has been given a fresh start in life after returning home.

Businessman and philanthropist Ibrahim Mahama has offered to establish a cement distribution and construction hardware depot for him as part of efforts to help him rebuild his livelihood.

At a meeting held in his office together with Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa, Mr. Mahama also gifted Emmanuel Asamoah GH¢200,000 to support his reintegration and business setup.

He used the opportunity to appeal to Ghanaians facing hardship abroad to consider returning home to start businesses or acquire vocational skills to build sustainable livelihoods.
