Captain Ibrahim Traoré is turning Burkina Faso’s record gold production into a major food security project. The country is building 48 mega silos with sovereign gold reserves at a cost of $4.7 billion, capable of storing 4.8 million tons of grain — without any new foreign debt or IMF loans.
This move strengthens African sovereignty and Sahel food security while breaking long-standing dependency patterns. The Alliance of Sahel States is now studying the model for regional expansion.
