Do you want to order coffee in English without freezing or feeling nervous?

In this English-speaking practice, you will learn how to order coffee clearly, understand common barista questions, customise your drink, ask for recommendations, solve problems politely, and make natural coffee-shop small talk.

This lesson includes five complete coffee shop conversations, each with 10 questions and answers. That means you will practise 50 realistic questions and answers from simple A1 orders to more confident B1 conversations.

Welcome to English Unlocked: The Fluency Podcast. I’m Adam, and in this lesson, you will listen to real coffee-shop situations, answer the barista out loud, and then copy a clear and natural English response.

This video will help you speak confidently from the moment you enter a café until you receive your drink. You will practise ordering, choosing a size, asking for alternative milk, changing the sweetness, adding an extra shot, paying, asking for clarification, correcting the wrong order, and talking naturally with the barista.

How to use this video:

Listen carefully to each coffee-shop situation.
Imagine that you are standing in front of the barista.
Answer each question out loud before you hear Adam’s response.
Repeat the full conversation and shadow the customer’s lines.
Practice again until you can respond without translating every word.
You do not need difficult English to order confidently.
You need clear phrases, polite questions, and simple responses that help you continue the conversation.

Before you go, answer this question in the comments:

What is your usual coffee-shop order?
You can write:
“Could I have a medium latte, please?”
Or:
“I usually order an iced coffee with oat milk.”
Or:
“I’d like a large flat white with an extra shot.”
Or:
“I don’t drink coffee. I usually order tea.”
Write your complete coffee order below and practise saying it out loud.

Keep listening.
Keep repeating.
Keep ordering.
Keep speaking with confidence.
Keep believing in yourself.
And keep unlocking your English fluency.
