The Communications and Digital Technologies Department has invited the public to comment on its draft National Artificial Intelligence policy.
The draft, which aims to promote responsible AI development, was published in the Government Gazette on Thursday.
It's based on the South African National Artificial Intelligence Policy Framework of August 2024.
The focus is on skills development, economic growth, governance, ethical AI, cultural preservation, and human-centred deployment.
