Were U.S. presidential elections always as clean as we remember?
This short examines three elections surrounded by major controversy:
🇺🇸 1968: Nixon's campaign and the Vietnam peace negotiations — a case supported by documentary evidence.
🇮🇷 1980: The "October Surprise" allegations involving the Iranian hostages — a controversial theory that was investigated but never conclusively proven.
🗳️ 2000: Florida's flawed voter-purge system, the razor-thin 537-vote margin, and the Supreme Court's decision in Bush v. Gore that ended the recount.
These cases aren't identical, and it's important to distinguish documented facts from allegations and political interpretations.
But they raise a bigger question:
How far will politicians go when control of the presidency is at stake?
