A new study suggests that so-called 'energy-draining' people in your life may be doing more than just affecting your mood—they could be accelerating your biological ageing. Backed by the National Institute on Ageing, researchers analysed data from over 2,000 individuals and found that each additional 'hassler' in a person's social circle increased their ageing rate by around 1.5%. These stress-inducing relationships—often involving family, colleagues or close contacts—act as chronic stressors on the body. While cutting people off isn't always realistic, experts recommend setting boundaries and balancing negative interactions with positive relationships to protect long-term health.
