China has criticized US and Israeli strikes on Iran, saying the attacks on civilian infrastructure violate international law, following the destruction of the B1 Bridge near Tehran.

Speaking in Beijing, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said the strikes lacked UN authorization and called for a return to dialogue and communication. She emphasized that attacks on civilian infrastructure should be avoided to prevent further humanitarian consequences.

The B1 Bridge, also known as the Karaj Suspension Bridge, was hit in two waves of airstrikes, with Iranian media reporting casualties after the second strike occurred while emergency teams were already on site.

The United States has said the bridge was being used by Iranian forces for military transport, while Iranian officials condemned the strike, highlighting its impact on infrastructure and civilians.

Mao also addressed broader regional issues, including legal concerns over new Israeli legislation and the need to protect the rights of Palestinians, while urging restraint and adherence to legal principles.
