While rejecting unauthorized anti-migrant ultimatums and vigilante actions, the government says immigration enforcement remains the responsibility of the state.

Recent measures include mass voluntary repatriation programs, stricter employer penalties, a newly approved immigration bill designed to speed up deportation procedures, and discussions around billing foreign governments for deportation-related costs.

Thousands of foreign nationals have reportedly registered for repatriation programs as authorities continue implementing tougher immigration controls across the country.
