Bodycam footage released by the Metropolitan Police shows officers confronting and detaining a man suspected of stabbing two people in Golders Green, north London, on April 29.

The video captures the suspect approaching officers as they repeatedly shout “drop the knife” before deploying a taser, bringing him to the ground. Jewish community security group Shomrim said the suspect was seen running along Golders Green Road, allegedly attempting to target Jewish pedestrians. Separate graphic videos circulating online appear to show an attack at a nearby bus stop.

Shomrim said its volunteers responded immediately and helped detain the suspect.

Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mark Rowley praised the rapid response, saying officers arrived within minutes and their actions “undoubtedly prevented further injury and saved lives.”
