President Donald Trump wrapped up his final day at the G7 summit in the French Alps after spending much of the gathering focused on a 14-point agreement aimed at ending the conflict with Iran.

While Iran dominated much of the summit's agenda, Russia's war in Ukraine remained a central focus of the gathering's security discussions. Officials said leaders discussed additional military assistance for Kyiv, including expanded air defense capabilities and measures designed to strengthen Ukraine's long-term defense industry. The group is also considering tougher sanctions targeting Russia's energy sector as Western allies seek to increase economic pressure on Moscow.

After addressing conflicts in the Middle East and Eastern Europe, leaders turned to another issue increasingly viewed through a national security and economic competitiveness lens: artificial intelligence. The discussions come as Europe increasingly debates how to reduce dependence on American technology companies that dominate the global AI landscape.
