Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said future dialogue on Ukraine will depend on whether European countries are willing to respect what Moscow describes as Russia's legitimate security interests.
During a press briefing, Zakharova questioned Europe's role in efforts to resolve the conflict, arguing that countries providing military and financial support to Ukraine cannot simultaneously present themselves as neutral mediators.
She also said that understandings reached between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump in Alaska in 2025 could serve as a foundation for a final settlement of the conflict, while claiming that some of those agreements remain unimplemented.
The briefing also touched on military aid to Ukraine, Russia's criticism of the United Nations, tensions on the Korean Peninsula, and Moscow's views on regional developments in Moldova.
