Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said that Iran and the United States will begin a new round of negotiations in Switzerland on Friday to move toward a final agreement following the start of an interim deal. US President Donald Trump said the agreement to halt hostilities was “done” and advancing to a second stage, though neither side has released full details and a permanent truce has yet to be formally confirmed.

The interim arrangement is expected to extend the fragile ceasefire declared in April by 60 days and could include the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran had effectively restricted amid earlier regional escalations.
