Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov held talks focused on international security, Ukraine, Iran, economic cooperation and the future of Eurasian integration.
Ryzhenkov called for a new global security system based on equality, mutual respect and trust, while highlighting the growth of Belarus-Russia trade and expanding regional cooperation.
Lavrov discussed the Ukraine conflict, recent contacts between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, developments surrounding Iran, and what he described as Europe's negative role in peace efforts. He also confirmed that U.S. representatives are expected to visit Russia for further discussions.
The ministers also emphasized cooperation against sanctions, preparations for the Russia-Africa Summit and efforts to develop a new Eurasian security architecture.
