Pakistan's southern Sindh province is enduring a blistering heatwave, with temperatures soaring above 51°C in several districts. Shaheed Benazirabad and Dadu recorded 51°C, while Mohenjodaro reached 50.5°C and Larkana and Jacobabad hit 50°C. The Pakistan Meteorological Department warned that temperatures across the country could remain 4–6°C above normal through June 12. Residents described the heat as unbearable, saying there was no relief even indoors. Scientists have repeatedly identified Pakistan as one of the countries most vulnerable to climate change, with rising global temperatures making extreme heatwaves more frequent and intense. Joshua Barnes tells you more.
