The UAE has launched a new phase of labour market reforms aimed at making work permit services faster, simpler and more digital. The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has opened a public consultation until July 30 to gather feedback on improving permit services. Building on its Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme, the ministry has already eliminated supporting document requirements and reduced mandatory data fields by up to 97 per cent. Work permit services are now available through unified digital platforms. The system includes 13 permit categories covering traditional employment, part-time work, traineeships, family-sponsored residents, Golden Visa holders and freelancers.
