Most people hear the word "diet" and immediately think of restriction, a gimmick, or a quick weight-loss fix. Claudia Zapata defines diet differently. A healthy diet, she says, encompasses everything from movement and sleep to relationships, job satisfaction, and stress. The food on your plate is part of it, but it's not the whole story.

Claudia studied at Georgetown's School of Foreign Service before pivoting to nutrition and earning her master's degree at the University of the Incarnate Word. She later founded The Diplomacy Diet.

Claudia explains that we're constantly negotiating with ourselves—whether to have the glass of wine, dessert, or another serving. The Diplomacy Diet is about slowing down, recognizing those internal negotiations, and remembering that you still have a choice.
