Siri pulls Yelp reviews, Apple Maps runs on Yelp content, and Alexa, Bing, Meta.ai, and Perplexity have all licensed Yelp data for local recommendations. Now Yelp has a deal with OpenAI, and that's why ChatGPT is citing Yelp profiles more often when someone asks for a real estate agent. Direct profile links, map results, top organic listings. Yelp’s got major influence in who Chat recommends in search-prompts.

Here's the thing: when a platform has 330 million reviews and a track record of feeding every major AI assistant, it becomes infrastructure. Yelp is yet another platform to prioritize… and they have a history of filtering review and other nonsense. So I get how this might be frustrating news. But… It's citation material and recommendation fuel for the AI tools your future clients are already using.
