Scientists at the Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology have uncovered fish fossils dating back around 4.5 million years in the Moand area near Dehradun. The discovery challenges earlier assumptions that the Himalayan foothills were dominated only by terrestrial life, revealing evidence of ancient aquatic ecosystems and offering new insights into the region’s geological and evolutionary past.
